Italian Series

Every artist is always enthusiastic about their latest works. In this case I am eager about the Italian series. It represents the totality of my knowledge and the collection of life experiences. At this time it seems as though many young artists of this genre emulate my style and attempt to generate the collage. What makes my work "totally unique" is that all images are autobiographical. If it's a visit to the Sistine Chapel it is my photograph, my angle, my composition. The beer bottle label is from a beer I drank and a label I folded. The pieces are cohesively thought out compositions when fit together create a particular story. It is true, that one element cannot fit into another picture. It is like a puzzle piece from a different box. It simply doesn't fit. Every work contributes something different than the others. There is a common thread running in the entire piece. Critical thinking forms the story not just filling the digital canvas with a barrage of imagery like advertising on television. My "American eye" is planted in pop culture and inundated with media. This makes for an interesting partner to historic Italy. The combined results are what happens in these new collages. Travel gives an artist the very best education for personal exploration, which ultimately becomes a gift for mankind. Capture the moment, but let it live forever.
