The matrix was multiplied successively by itself, creating new matrices that translated into images made of visual signs of a particular form and colour. Given that Nake used random number generation in this work during this period, the multiplication process was probably partly automated. The portfolio was published by the artist Hansjörg Mayer in an edition of forty.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]More works
Generative Softwares (2025)
Geradescharen Series (2018)
Walk-Through Raster (1966)
Hommage à Paul Klee (1965-67)
Random polygonal line (1965)
Rectangualar hatches (1965)
Early Algorithmic Drawings (1963-65)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_gallery type=”justified” hover_effect=”opacity” images=”13203,13202″ css_animation=”fade-up”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ z_index=”0″ css_animation=”fade-up”][vc_custom_heading text=”Matrix Multiplication (1967-68)” font_size=”16″ text_align=”left” font_weight=”600″][vc_column_text]This portfolio is made of three separate series, which were generated from a square matrix produced by Nake on a Telefunken T4 computer.
