These compositions usually address subjects such as identity, subjectivity, seduction, and the body, in relation to technology and archetypal images of women. In the series <em>Phantom Limb<\/em> (1985-86) she merges female bodies and machines, while <em>Hero Sandwich <\/em>(1988) confronts publicity photographs of male and female celebrities, fused by printing layered negatives.
