Sand Movies

This page shows some movie clips of the sand pieces produced by the Ho collaboration.

Note that the QuickTime plugin is needed to play these, and that file sizes vary from 170 Kb up to over 3 Mb.

The download times are well worth the wait, even on a modem — the movies are simply stunning.

I have been sitting Zen at the Montreal Zen center for over ten years now. Though I am curious to see new works of art that have elements of Zen, I have always been a traditionalist. So normally if some were to speak to me of mechanically created sculptures in the Zen tradition, I would be sceptical.
